Description
Rendang is a richly flavored meat dish that is very popular in Indonesia. Originally from Sumatra, it is served at events to honor guests. In 2011 it was named by CNN as the number one dish of the 50 Most Delicious Foods in the world. It is slowly cooked in coconut milk and rich spices until the sauce is thick to a consistency. The ingredients for Rendang are coriander, pepper, lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, galangal, chili, shallots and garlic.
